Welcome to our new PhD students

We are thrilled to welcome two exceptional new doctoral students to our research group: Lukas Brock and Sepehr Mousavi.

Lukas Brock and Sepehr Mousavi

Lukas completed his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He then pursued a Master's degree in Computational Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich, where he was also part of the Bavarian Graduate School of Computational Engineering. Lukas will be working on the exciting topic of "Model Discovery and Digital Twins in Manufacturing" in collaboration with CSEM.

Sepehr received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran and his M.Sc. in Computational Science and Engineering from EPF Lausanne. His research interests are centered around data-driven methods for physics simulation, with a particular focus on physics-informed machine learning and operator learning. Under the supervision of Professor De Lorenzis, Sepehr will be focusing on machine learning methods and foundational models for the modeling of constitutive laws.

We are confident that both Lukas and Sepehr will make significant contributions to our research community and look forward to their innovative work in their respective fields. Welcome aboard!
